06 Apr Apple Fritters
Today, I am frying things. Since you can use the oil over and over, I figured I would give some apple fritters a whirl before throwing away the oil. I miss doughnuts sometimes, or at least the option of eating them, so this recipe is an indulgent way to feel like you are eating doughnuts. The dough is tasty – its got a great texture, the apples give a little “meat” to the bite and the cinnamon compliments it all really well. They are cake-like with a crispy outside, and so good! Fried food tastes delicious in a way that only fried food can!
Mostly, these are pretty simple. You mix all of the ingredients in one bowl and then you fry them. I sometimes still get intimated by frying things, because I don’t do it often, so I didn’t mark this as “easy” but I still think these would work in a pinch if you needed something a bit different for hosting a brunch.
So it probably goes without saying for most things fried, but these are kid-approved. My daughter loved these! She is two and hand modeled for me at the prospect of getting one. I am proud of this picture like only a mother can be!
Enjoy these, I’ve got what is left in my freezer and am looking forward to toasting them up for future breakfast treats!
