27 Jan Butter Matcha Latte
This recipe is one of my favorite drinks. In the morning I depend on a warm caffeinated drink to start my day. Many days, thinking about that warming drink is what gets me out of bed. I alternate Matcha Lattes with espresso and coffee drinks of various forms. Since my husband and I both worked as baristas when we were in college, we steam our own milk and tamp our own espresso shots. I like to get creative with the non-dairy mixtures I create to steam, adding butter, ghee, coconut oil, maple syrup or coconut sugar. I also steam up golden milks, pumpkin milks, hot chocolate and matcha lattes like this one. The recipe you see here I steamed with the milk frother on our espresso machine, but a blender creates a similar result. I like this recipe because it is a creamy latte without the addition of any milk/non-dairy milk.
THIS is my favorite brand of matcha tea. I don’t always splurge on it, but I think it is the best tasting of the ones I’ve tried.
