“Hey, so could you do a cocktail with just Topo Chico, Tequila and lime juice?” She asks earnestly with a doe-eyed expression on her face. The waiter looks at her the way he’s looked at a hundred other people asking stupid questions that day.

“You mean a Ranch Water?” He asks, pausing long enough for the doe-eyed expression to deepen into realization.

“Oh! That’s a thing?” She responds stupidly. Everyone at the table would have chosen to not reveal this was a revelation to them as well, but there she sits, taking the grief and not even slipping into shame because a spark has occurred within her. A spark that makes the deepening impatience of the waiter unimportant… This is a thing! 

Yep. This is a thing, and its called Ranch Water, and it is the bubbliest wonderment to ever cross your lips. You don’t have to work hard at it, and you can leave the guilt, because after all, its only water.

Topo Chico, Tequila and Lime

Ingredients

  

• 1 oz Tequila
• 8 oz Topo Chico or other sparkling water
• 1 Lime cut into wedges
• 1 TB Salt course ground (optional for rim)

Instructions

 

• If you are wanting salt on the rim of your glass, rub one of the lime wedges around the top rim of your glass. Then invert your glass into the salt spread out over a plate which is at least as big as the rim of your glass until the rim of the glass is coated in salt to your liking.
• Combine the sparkling water, tequlia and the juice of 2-3 lime wedges in the glass. Taste and adjust compents to your liking.
