Ingredients
- 1 tbsp. Fresh grated turmeric*
- 2 c Rice milk
- 1 1/2 tbsp. Coconut sugar
- Crack of fresh pepper (optional)
- fresh grated nutmeg (optional)
- 1 tsp. Coconut Oil (optional)
Instructions
- Cut the skin from the outside of the turmeric root and grate it with a microplane into a small sauce pan.
- Cook fresh turmeric for a few seconds on it's own in the pan until fragrant, careful not to let it burn.
- Add in milk and sugar and then stir. Allow the milk to come to a low simmer and then remove from heat. Allow to steep for five minutes, then strain through a fine mesh strainer.
- Stir coconut oil into the liquid until melted if using. Crack pepper and grate nutmeg over the drink if using. Enjoy!
